Hello, world! A fresh start... I'm Schykle and I like talking tech! I'm passionate about smartphones and smartphone cameras especially! I use both #Android and #iOS. Here's some random snaps I've taken on my phones!
Bought a keyboard with a 10-key for the first time in a long while and I cannot express just how much I HATE it.

I guess I also hate the stupid macro keys that are to the left of this keyboard. I love the switches, but lesson learned... The Logitech G915X is NOT for me.

Got to play around with COSMIC from the @system76.bsky.social folks and I am REALLY happy they've committed to creating their own desktop.

This is SO dang snappy, and per-display workspaces is AWESOME.

Keep it up, y'all.

v1.112 is live!

We’re launching Find Friends, a contact import feature that helps you find people you know on Bluesky.

Try it! In the mobile app, go to Settings → Find friends from contacts.

Not surprising that the same people scared of Rust are the same people afraid of pronouns and basic reading skills. 🥺 It's a big, scary world out there... Do you need a blanket?

Linux is better with Rust 🥳

Chromebooks are so much cooler than they get credit for. To be honest, they're just so much easier to get up and running, and *EVERYONE* is using the Google services that come with them.

Google has played the long game, and it's looking so good.

Explorer already runs in the background at all times. Microsoft isn't speeding anything up, they're just slowing down other startup processes by adding MORE to how much Explorer consumes at startup.

Microsoft should just try making a decent file manager. If only they wrote good software anymore.
Microsoft is speeding up File Explorer in Windows 11 by preloading it. It's designed for less powerful devices and you can disable the preloading. The context menu in File Explorer is also getting decluttered. Full details 👇 www.theverge.com/news/827414/...

"I paid for three disk failures, I'm gonna get three disk failures" is one of the funniest things I've heard casually said in a server room in a while. I feel both terrified and represented 💀

Congratulations to the people of New York City. The entire country saw you choose people over power, and truth over fiction.

There aren't enough words to express how unsettling it is to watch conservatives run on the platform of racism and hate so comfortably. This is a huge win against that.

I've seen a lot of people riled by this post, some with genuine concern and others who just see Bluesky as another social network villain where anything gets rejected without logic simply because it must be bad.

I want my interactions to be enjoyable, and deprioritizing ragebait is a no-brainer.

I took this photo looking down off of a balcony during a photo trip last year. Nothing particularly special about it, I just enjoy the colors and the way it makes me feel. Figured I’d share!

For anyone curious about Oppo’s X9 Pro flagship, the one and only @beccafarsace.bsky.social got her hands on one for her 1,000 photos review!

Really solid results from Oppo I think, and a great video!

I can't believe it took me this long to learn how a rangefinder actually worked... Thanks, David!!!
New from me: Leica made an M camera without a rangefinder. I analyzed why they might have done this, and did some trigonometry.

Crucially though, the government shutdown has prevented the FCC from certifying it for sale in the U.S., so a launch date here is uncertain.
