The Month of December was a busy one and we accomplished so much on your behalf!

Keeping in touch with MI-03 neighbors helps me do my job better. This year, Team Scholten sent more than 92,000 letters of correspondence to West Michiganders – boasting one of the quickest response times in Congress!

Happy Kwanzaa to all who are celebrating. Wishing you a joyful week surrounded by loved ones!

The holidays can be an incredibly challenging time. It’s important to know that you are NOT alone and that resources and help are available to those who need it. If you are in a crisis, call 988 for free, 24/7 mental health support.

For West Michiganders needing assistance with a federal agency, Team Scholten is here to help you! In 2025 alone, I secured over $12 million returned to your pockets.

Over $11.5 MILLION! That’s how much grant funding I secured for West Michigan in 2025, delivering resources for essential projects that strengthen our communities.

The House discharge petition now has the necessary 218 signatures to demand a vote on the floor.

Here’s a breakdown of what’s happening. @houserepublicans.bsky.social need to bring this bill to the floor today. Now.

Thanks to our fall intern cohort in our Washington D.C. office: Max, Davis, and Sanaya. West Michigan is grateful for your public service!

Today, we honor the memory of soldiers, sailors, and civilians who died on December 7, 1941. We remember the heroes who served that fateful day and commend the veterans who chose to join the fight in the days that followed.

On this day in 1865, the 13th Amendment abolished slavery in the United States, a first step in the long fight for equality for Black Americans. We must never forget the horrors of slavery and stand committed to the ongoing work of expanding justice and opportunity for all.

At this week’s Small Business Committee hearing, I had the opportunity to question Ms. Lisa Plaggemier about AI and cybersecurity and what small businesses need to stay protected.

On this Giving Tuesday, I’m celebrating the generosity that defines West Michigan. Whether you’re supporting a local nonprofit, pitching in at a food drive, or lending a hand to a neighbor, every act of giving strengthens our community.
Thank you for all you do to lift one another up.

Happy birthday to Senator Gary Peters! I’m grateful for your steady leadership and your commitment to Michigan’s families, workers, and small businesses. Wishing you a wonderful day and a great year ahead.

Small businesses are the heart of West Michigan.

On Small Business Saturday, I’m grateful for the makers and store owners who keep our communities strong. When you shop locally, you’re investing in your neighbors and the future of our region.

What a way to start the day!

Honored to join the Grand Rapids Turkey Trot this morning and share a few thoughts before the race. West Michigan shows its heart in moments like these — neighbors coming together, families celebrating, and kids leading the way.

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!

Happy Thanksgiving, West Michigan. Today I’m especially thankful for the strength, generosity, and resilience of our community — and for my family, who reminds me every day why this work matters.
Wishing you and your loved ones a safe, peaceful, and hope-filled holiday.

When our neighbors are in need, West Michigan always lends a helping hand. Grateful to see this year's Turkey Trot collecting food to support families across our community.

Too many West Michigan families are being priced out of safe, stable housing. That’s why I teamed up with Rep. Bresnahan to introduce the Unlocking Affordable Housing Act, a bipartisan bill that makes it easier to build more homes and bring down costs.

It is concerning to see the President target public officials for simply doing their jobs. Reminding our troops to follow the law is not sedition, and it should never be treated that way. This is not how a healthy democracy operates, and I will keep focusing on what matters to West Michigan.

Protecting the safety and dignity of women and girls is essential. I’m proud to join the Equality Caucus in calling on the Court to uphold these basic protections.

I was honored to gather with the survivors of Jeffrey Epstein and the Democratic Women’s Caucus after the House vote to release the Epstein files. These women deserve justice. I’m working to make sure they get it.
