For some time I’ve thought self-righteousness (and the accompanying legalism) was rooted in deep insecurity. Lately, I’ve been noticing that selfishness is often part of the equation. Does selfishness arise from self-righteousness, or is it the other way around, or are they joined at the hip?

When they talk about privatizing Veterans’ care and Medicare, they mean allowing companies to provide healthcare for a profit.

But how do companies make those profits? By *denying* care to many who need it.

Don’t get fooled by the “privatization” label. It means “for profit” and YOU are the cost.
