There are the big sequences in the car chase sequence and the climactic tracking shot, and the final shot of the boat in the harbor, but I also think of some of the smaller shots. The first time Theo sees Kee. The crowd forming around Kee as she caries the baby out of the building.

I feel like this season has pointed out how it’s important to bring back the Hall of Fame too. I watch your content, the @tolariancommunitycollege.com doc about Jesse’s Pro Tour experience, @jimdavismtg.bsky.social testing house doc, and Hungry on Plane’s stuff. Those narratives are so powerful.

My grandfather used to draw a line with a piece of charcoal of where he wanted his sideburns cut because he would always fall asleep while getting his hair cut.

Adventures could flesh this idea out as well, and they can provide both qualifications for the trigger.

It’s just a blank frame for me.

The thing about the “they’re cheating the system” argument that I will never get over, is that the correct response is “SO FUCKING WHAT?!” The people who game and engineer this system would game and engineer a different system, but that system would just be worse for everyone.

Okay, this is a long shot, but in Double Fine PsychOdyssey, they had MtG stuff all around the office. There was an oversized Ob Nixilis card on the wall. Multiple people in the office had decks and cards on their desks. If you could get Tim Schafer on to talk, MtG that would be pretty cool.

One of the things about this dynamic that frustrates me is that there is a hunger for genuine and rigorous criticism from people, but engagement systems manipulate and poison that desire. These systems tend to homogenize opinion rather than generate discussion. It’s very frustrating.

I heard this in my head in the “Big meaty men slapping meat” delivery, and I am now cackling.

I genuinely think Casual Magic is a better and more compelling listen than at least seven of the shows on that list.

Prior to Monster Hunter Rise all of the PCs and NPCs were nameless. They only had titles. Your character would receive titles after completing certain progression levels, and NPCs would refer to your character by those titles. This set of Secret Lairs is focused primarily on those games.

When I was in school, I had a professor who was well known to cheat on their spouse with students. Their spouse was a former student.

In a fantastic and prolific career, it includes what is probably Dustin Hoffman’s best performance, and Dante Basco was so good as Rufio.
