I’ve lost track of how many days in a row I’ve been at work staring at a mind numbing spreadsheet but today is my one day off and I have both cats cuddling up to me on the couch. This is purrfect 😻😻

How have these things not been made illegal yet?
In terms of what’s understood to be socially acceptable behavior, normalizing the filming/taking pictures of people in public who are minding their own business (and putting it online) is one of the worst developments of the past 15 years.

I’m in that headspace where I’m waiting for my food to arrive and one of the workers comes up to tell me I need a bottle opener for my Yuzu water (bless her), but my internal monologue is like “this better be important 🤯”

You could be mistaken for thinking that the whole pothole situation is manufactured 3AW/Murdoch nonsense, but I’ve seen it with my own eyes and it’s actually really bad.

Why did they just suddenly stop repairing potholes in country roads?

When you let engineers design something with no oversight you end up with monstrosities like the Combino bogie chair

ChatGPT has done a lot of heavy lifting in terms of reminding me of the stuff that used to be my bread and butter 16 years and beyond ago. It's amazing how much Linux I actually remember after all this time.

Because nothing is cooler than the idea of turning my tent lights on and off from my phone in front of a camp fire.

I'm just winding up from a 5 day weekend. My original plan was to do an overnight camping trip to the high country, but the weather put that to an end.

I've instead started playing with Raspberry Pi, and am making plans for a Pi/Arduino based IoT system for a camping trailer.

It's been a hot minute since I have used Linux, talking about 16 years (apart from some isolated cases playing with the Mac OS BSD backend), and I'm pleased to know that I still remember a lot of what I walked away from back then.
