half-remembering a meme about how if you ignore the environment or assume it to be equal you'd come to the conclusion that most popes have been italian because of some genetic predisposition towards popery present in the people of italy. in isolation IQ tests are basically just that

Hi there. I have congenital medical issues that cause me chronic pain that significantly limits what I can do and makes most days absolutely horrible.

I would like society to find ways to manage my chronic pain, rather than deciding I should never have been born because I'm inconvenient.

It's never been easier to quietly and carefully teach yourself material that you never learned. Youtube is full of lectures and the internet is full of notes.

PLEASE DO NOT MAKE CHATGPT YOUR TEACHER

Pick human teachers & when I say learn, I mean to do things yourself, not to prompt wolfram alpha

I think too often physics students unconsciously have the idea that some people have brains that are "natural" for physics and some don't and who knows maybe that's true to some extent but regardless of natural tendency at some point everyone has to practice practice practice

3. Although I think I see the point OP is trying to make, it's dangerous to simplify historical eugenics and we should never write off present day concerns over gene editing, etc. We should *always* question why we are doing something and explore all the potential ramifications of these decisions.

Lots of other eugenicists (especially women eugenicists) believed in a combo of euthenics and eugenics. The idea that while we are waiting for eugenic policies to purify the human race, there are environmental factors that can help improve human stock (many dude eugenicists hated this idea)

They did this through things like eugenic marriage laws, better baby contests, and fitter family contests. Some of this is certainly about preventing disease, but most of it is about preserving & supporting white supremacy. Only white protestant babies, for example, could win a better baby contest.

2. Focusing on the where I said scientists & others believed in "some form of eugenics." That's key to another problem with OPs post. Eugenicists had a WIDE spectrum of eugenic beliefs & often disagreed! Some eugenicists believed in OPs version: forced & coerced sterilization.
