I guess my main point is, if a play needs controversy to open doors, then it isn’t good, the bones itself should be good.

To controversy in the form of circumstance. No matter who is chosen for Jesus, the different lens will throw people in uproar. I know it’s for marketing and to get eyes on it, but I still think we can have a good production without the Bible thumpers getting up in arms.

No, it’s a valid question, I think it’s a GREAT musical, do not get me wrong. It’s more the fact that I don’t like a lot of the portrayals. I genuinely think looking at it through the lens of a troupe DOING the passion is the best version but most versions just the passion so it gives way-
