Retired Ag Fed; Glacier, Arches, Canyonlands, and the Chesapeake!
I see the made-up inflation numbers have been posted. Again, why would anyone believe what come's out of the Administration?

How can anyone look at the Year in Pictures/Immigration and not think we will all remember. While it all happened, we were overwhelmed and inundated, and most likely it didn't all register. Take a few minutes; look at the pictures; consider the impact. This Administration has no humanity.

I am getting REAL TIRED of everyone blaming the Democrats for the shutdown. Why did they do it? To get Obamacare subsidies extended. What was Trump’s health plan proposal on the subsidies…extend them! The Rs could have, at any time, opened the government. And extended the subsidies. REAL TIRED.

Man, your President is S C A R E D !

So MTG thinks some individual or some country is putting pressure on Trump to not release the Epstein files.
She DOESN't pose the question her assertion raises: what leverage does this individual or country have on Trump that would merit this kind of pressure????

Everyone of the people who work for Donald Trump is cruel. He is cruel; his kids are cruel; his cabinet secretaries are cruel (Rollins licks her lips at the thought of stopping SNAP; Rubio thinks fat people are some kind of drain on America; etc.); Miller, Leavitt, Bondi...the list goes on. Cruel.

Somebody please get the Democrats' deal to Mike Johnson before he says he's never heard about it and doesn't know anything about that. Please.

So. For weeks, the Rs have been asking the White House for help to solve the shutdown, all the while saying only the Dems can start the flow of money & get feds back to work. Miracle of miracles, Trump finally tells the Rs to do away with the filibuster - they did it for nominees - and open it up.

Reminder:

The GOP could open the government tomorrow. They choose not to.

The GOP could eliminate the massive health insurance cost spikes tomorrow. They choose not to.

The GOP could ensure SNAP recipients get their aid tomorrow. They choose not to.

ALL this pain & suffering is on the GOP.

I'm starting to think this isn't salvageable.

Kudos to the Democrats standing firm against the regime in their underhanded attempt to "pay" the military and the furloughed federal employees. They absolutely should not cave to the Republicans - who all along could have opened the govt and paid everyone on September 30, or Oct 5 or the 6 or 7 or..

I am always surprised how apparently ill-informed our country's Republican leadership is. Ask them a question about something happening that the whole world knows about and has seen videos of, and they're like "I haven't heard/seen/read anything about that so I can't comment"...Mike Johnson...

The fact that Friday, the CDC laid off thousands of employees, only to rescind their layoffs over the weekend because of "public outcry" and not because they did something horribly stupid, is evidence enough that this Administration is totally fucked up.

to clarify - Winslow needs to get a clue - not George Conway. He's known for a long time now!!

WIll the NFL stand strong?

@schumer.senate.gov DIG YOUR HEELS IN! DO NOT let Trump get his bullying-way. These Republicans need to remember - and remember well - what goes around comes around.
October 3, 2025 at 9:23 PM
Enough with the "Democrats should be a responsible governing partner"! Rs have been having it their way all year (they don't 'govern'!). Rs could open the government today. But they don't want to- they think the public is stupid and will blame the Ds, and they want above all to make Trump happy.
October 3, 2025 at 12:02 PM
I don't understand why Trump and Vought think threatening to fire thousands of fed emps would make Democrats vote for the CR. Even if Dems voted for it, Trump can and will still fire thousands. What am I missing? When they were in session, Trump even cut the appropriated funding - nothing stops him.
October 2, 2025 at 6:56 PM
@schumer.senate.gov DO NOT let the "centrist "Democrats" abandon your stand. It's way past time to stand up to the bully, since his own people - who admit he's unwell! -won't do it. DO NOT GIVE IN. And no not let the Rs peel off votes to get the Republican CR pass. Don't give up; don't give in.
October 2, 2025 at 1:30 PM
Democrats who don't stand strong against Trump and the Republicans are not Democrats. They are Republicans in sheep's clothing -- Joe Manchin, anyone?
October 2, 2025 at 1:27 PM
Don't you just LOVE how this Administration- with all the deep-throated support of the Republican Party - are happy to use federal employees as pawns in their stupid games? And don't you just LOVE how the Rs really think we don't know what they're doing?
October 2, 2025 at 12:10 PM
If Vought is allowed to pursue his agenda of cutting funding for projects in blue staates/ firing federal workers/ axing programs to help middle & lower income households, ANY Democrat who votes for the R's CR should be considered a traitor. Rs think they have the moral high ground; they are WRONG.

I'm not given to conspiracies...but why is all the military brass here in DC on the day the government shuts down? Could a takeover be in the offing tomorrow? Is Pete undertaking a coup?????
September 30, 2025 at 12:40 PM
Will no one stop this Madman? Is there not one sane person in this Administration?
September 25, 2025 at 12:52 PM
