Sarah Huckabee Sanders was once politely asked to leave a restaurant and it generated 100x as much handwringing from the media as this will
Heavily armed paramilitary forces stormed a local San Diego restaurant today, deployed stun grenades against a crowd of onlookers, and kidnapped a handful of kitchen workers.

Horrifying. For EVERYONE, because this man was not a student - he had already graduated - and as a student, he had NOT been in disciplinary trouble with the Uni, this says.

Could read as"NYC permanent resident kidnapped from his home, where fed agents hid & w/o warrant, & refused access to atty"
NEWS: Last night, the Department of Homeland Security detained a Palestinian who helped lead the Columbia encampment.

Agents told him his visa was revoked. He said he had a green card. They were confused—then said that was revoked too.

His attorney demanded a warrant. Agents hung up instead.

UPDATE—Mahmoud's attorney says they do NOT know where he is.
They were first told he was sent to an ICE facility in Elizabeth, NJ. But when his 8-month-pregnant wife tried to visit him, she was told he's not there.
They've received reports he may be sent as far away as Louisiana.

My first and definitely last time working with the Los Angeles Times. Editing out the most urgent point of an OpEd in the minutes before sending to press while then also assigning a title and image that suggest an argument entirely opposite to the author’s clear intent is pretty shitty.

HIGHLY recommend checking out the Edges of Ailey exhibit at the Whitney while you still have a chance. Was beyond moved multiple times and I say that as someone is not a huge dance person.

A friend of mine lost their home yesterday in the Eaton fire, after a really rough year. Their friend has organized this campaign to help get them back on their feet. If you can, please donate. It would mean so much to me.

NYU banning student protestors from a building that houses a legendary archive of the history of radical protest is almost like hiring a journalist who covers policing in New York City and penalizing him for covering policing in New York City...

NYU Bans Its Own Journalism Professor From Multiple Buildings After He Documented a Pro-Palestine Protest
We spoke with NYU journalism professor Chenjerai Kumanyika about how the school's intensified campus policing strategy might be doing Donald Trump's work for him.

Hi all! I am currently looking for some part time story editing/consulting work for the winter + spring. Ideally between a 10 - 15 hr range. I also love to give one-off workshops and classes!

Here’s a picture of me in high school as proof of my enduring taste and style.

A point of focus:

NYU’s actions over the past few days are the main way they have addressed peaceful demands for disclosure and divestment of its complicity in Israel’s occupation and genocide.

The architecture of repression applies far more broadly of course.

Several faculty and students were given this designation with no explanation of why other than “violation of university policy.”

In my case, the violation could only have been filming interactions between campus cops, administrators and students during a peaceful sit in.

This is where we are.
NYU Campus Security and Administration is totally out of control.

On Wednesday - I filmed a peaceful protest in Bobst library for two hours.

Yesterday at 2pm while at home,
I received an email explaining that I’ve been designated “persona non grata” and banned from several buildings on campus.

UPDATE: NYPD have arrested at least two of those faculty members. Arrests ongoing!!
‼️BREAKING: 3 NYU faculty at today’s peaceful rally outside of Bobst Library have been declared PNG and barred from campus. No warnings or explanation of alleged policy violations. Incidentally, all the faculty are Jewish. Order came from Provost Georgina Dopico. More to follow.
