IT'S ME, I'M THE WEBSITE DEVELOPER, I HAVE NOT DELETED OUR FILES

"No, no, you need to call Cloudflare and the problem is with them..." How is changing my dns going to magically make my files reappear in your empty hosting, my guy!

"We need to migrate your files over to us" Our hosting has only ever been with you! Migrate these files from WHERE!
November 17, 2025 at 10:03 PM
They're like, well your dns needs to be updated to point to us, it's not currently pointing to our hosting.

Why would I update my dns to point to your EMPTY HOSTING.

Clearly the files exist somewhere? I can get into the WordPress back end. It's loading an html version of the website.

As someone who's done cover design, it's not even that hard??? Like I love cover design because it's fun and relatively quick (as long as they have a good brief). I've never charged an arm and a leg for it so I'm like, it's really just about being a miser huh

In Hamilton! Must get a Volare pie. They're so good. Made in Hamilton East would be the closest place to the Frankton station I think.

In my swearing in speech last term I joked that my partner was now Mr Councillor Louise Hutt and it got a good laugh.

This is a very funny joke, you're welcome

Walking from the overground train was pretty good but we didn't really have to cross any roads, all bridges. Just Roe x William I reckon, or William x Wellington but people do seem equally happy to jaywalk here 😂

I'm always pro them, I think you get better ped behaviour when they're prioritised
November 15, 2025 at 4:00 AM
Oh that's interesting! I am of course commenting only on like a six block radius from our hotel on James St 😂

Idk if Hamilton has any, there's just been a few times where I've been like, sigh I don't wanna cross twice when I'm standing in the sun!

I'd say it was probably a mixed bag? Some stuff I think we'd do better, other stuff them. It's interesting.

Ironically, when we were in the outback, all the public and gas station toilets were immaculate. So clean. Cleaner than anything in NZ. In Perth? Oof, there's been some doozies.

They don't seem to have barn dances for their ped crossings which is annoying. The area we've been staying has had good volume of public seating but Perth Airport was terrible.

Also noticed ppl monopolising the priority seats on the trains (putting suitcases on them) when it was standing room only.
November 14, 2025 at 11:14 PM
Yeah, interesting. I've noticed a lot of their institutions (art gallery museum...) have big sections on their websites for accessibility that in Hamilton we don't provide as much info.

Walking around, I found all their elevators quite frustrating, curbs are a bit hit and miss
November 14, 2025 at 11:11 PM
That would have cost me probably NZ$75-100. Like, WHAT.

I certainly have my unemployed summer craft plans already laid out for me now!

So many people have made comments like this when we even said we were going over there - but I love our expensive, damp lil country that has no frogs coming up the toilet and 30° highs so don't even worry
November 14, 2025 at 10:55 PM
And then another store, their prices probably averaged about AU$30/m which is much closer to what I'd get at home but I got 3.4m of glorious black corduroy for AU$30. It was already on sale and the end of the roll and they were like, do you just want all of it for the price of 3m? Yes yes yes I do.
November 14, 2025 at 10:53 PM
Imagine fabric you actually could follow the supply chain for and have actual certainty about where it came from! This is a massive issue in NZ for sourcing fabrics, it's almost always an unknown (Spotlight, Backstreet Bargains, etc) or the price is PREMIUM (TFS, Drapers...)
November 14, 2025 at 10:50 PM
They were also selling lots of 5m for AU$20 (NZ$24) for ends of rolls. Like WHAT. Less than NZ$5/m for the end of a roll?

And admittedly, because it's hand woven, it's only 90-100cm wide, the stuff you're getting from Spotlight is gunna be 130-150cm wide but this is all properly traceable!
