OK, 6-3, because as much as I want to be a Thomas Truther on this I don't think it's his kind of crazy. Might be 7-2, I feel like one of the liberals (my money's on Kagan) is also a no. Kavanaugh writes a concurrence that exists exclusively to save face and irritate law students with extra reading.

This gets us to 5-4 no if I'm right about the others, which is yet another reason to doubt the legitimacy of the Court moving forward.

I think she and Roberts wind up being similar, but her definition of a sandwich is insane while being demonstrably more principled while Roberts doesn't think a hot dog is a sandwich but does think some food literally nobody thinks is a sandwich (lasagna?) is "in the spirit of compromise."

Unfortunately we only know where one Justice stands on this issue at this point, but Justice Sotomayor is on the record (albeit in an interview) as saying that a hot dog IS a sandwich. To learn more about this appetizing vein of jurisprudence, see: hedgehogsandfoxes.org/index.php/20...

I hadn't thought about this one but it's a personal favorite and ties in very well to several emerging threads. I love it!

These are all really good! I'll need to rewatch The Insider but one thing I'm realizing is that there is a potentially rich vein of "legal movies that aren't about lawyers" that are worth specifically calling attention to (I think Erin Brockovich is one of those too), so I think it fits well.

Not off-topic at all! This project likely calls for a TNG reference already (I think one episode in particular and Anatomy of a Murder capture a very specific aspect of my job very well) and should at least have a shout-out to other series so it actually might fit like a glove.

Since you've already tapped into this space, I feel like there might be a market for a piece exploring how law journal practices challenge the concept of linear time.

Underrated distraction: the Magic simulacrum that is the digital-only version of the expansion, which has the same cards mechanically but they've been de-Marveled to avoid competition with Marvel Snap. The inexplicable not-Spider-Man symbiote-spider-human world really is something else.

Actually, wait, have you found your way to Drake Agricultural Law Review yet? Feels like the perfect opportunity tbh.

I've often said your interests aren't eclectic enough. Why delve into such pedestrian topics as fish shooting when you can commit a philosophical suey with me and shamelessly plug AI while folks are throwing money at it?

For those who I have teased with She-Hulk, that article is 100% a follow-up to this one, and my biggest question is if I just write free-standing She-Hulk or if I integrate it into a much longer project. It's a rich text, I swear! And I guess I can talk about nerd shit like Better Call Saul, too.

Not sure I'm using the meme right, but this one holds a special place in my heart: digitalcommons.law.seattleu.edu/faculty/577/

It has it all: Marxist theory! A thesis that I both find compelling and think is due for reappraisal due to changes in multiple art forms! Visceral hatred of Ally McBeal!
Screening the Law: Ideology and Law in American Popular Culture

I know I overuse the lyrics to shake it off as a joke response but like, it's pretty solid advice.
