We stan a legend

Figured I'd celebrate the end of summer with a Weird Al concert. What a strange cultural figure- did we ever figure it out? He's not the opposite of a problematic fave- that's Kevin Smith- but i feel like everyone has a Weird Al phase they outgrew but never got embarrassed by?

Stop scrolling and post two characters who bring you joy and happiness.

I know I'm cheating with the extra context but this meme has kept me going for almost a year at this point and I think it's fun/aspirational.

For those who doubt my bona fides and/or want a Friday foray into the adventures of li'l Sam, this has been my Facebook profile picture (no I don't use it anymore) since it was taken in 2015. Guy on the right is Mark Rosewater, head MTG designer: Guy on the left is me before law aged me terribly.

I'm having a very satisfying return to my alma mater for AALL/CoList, but above all else I'm very pleased to announce that true legends never die.

Looks like I'm late to the party on this one, so might be a crowded market, but I may have found my latest, greatest enemy. Does it count if the pop culture reference is the ENTIRETY of the journal article, which I suspect will wind up being the case for "She-Hulk?"

In the past few weeks I've been thinking a lot about the Council of Sams. For those who don't know, this is an eclectic mix of people and characters who I have been directly compared to on the basis of appearance, voice similarity, and general vibes. My personal favorite: Pepe the King Prawn.

Wendy has perfectly summed up my problem with AI, grades, and hell, let's throw Quimbee in while we're at it. The fact that she seems to know what she has lost gives me modest hope, but there is a joy in learning and creation that we have done our utmost to destroy. nymag.com/intelligence...

Movie you’ve watched more than six times using gifs

("Hard mode" no Star Wars, Star Trek or LOTR)

(More of this please)

(I definitely have too many of these but I do think this one is the most fun)

I want to frame the rejection i got from (journal unnamed). "You didn't make a legal argument, please make one and resubmit" was always a note I was going to get, but I find it especially funny that I got it for the piece I've written that has come closest to making a doctrinal point.

I started a LinkedIn account and I've gotta say, I don't understand it at all. I don't understand what social media niche it fills. But in its way I think it might be better than Bluesky, which is, uh, not great for us. For a sign of how little I understand this but also just weird coolness:

Just got my prints for The Law is Weirder than AI! If you're enjoying Jurisprudence of Sandwiches and/or Dissecting the Frog, consider giving this one a shot: it's more of a bummer, but it's pretty easily my favorite of my paper children at this point.

Due to my publication schedule, got my first ever law review print! Should have Weird coming my way soon as well, so very excited to finally take my place in the faculty bookshelf. :)
