Very true! Very true! It is incredibly annoying! There's also stuff that's like, I want TWO emails from you per year about the SINGLE event you put on that I care about. That's IT! TWO EMAILS A DAY IS CRAZY

Yeaaaah, it's very annoying! I'm still gonna try to go without, by unsubscribing to stuff that I never read, and maybe getting another email just for online stores and newsletters and stuff.

I don't get why ppl one step further up the creative chain think they're safe. Are we really going to pretend that AI won't eventually be able to generate a whole game? Anyone using AI is just training their replacement at this point. Why play your game when I can just generate one myself?

It does seem so! I do think it's a bit more complex for devs, just cause the way AI stuff is getting put into their programming tools, it's hard to say for sure when it's even being used...but I still think there was a better way than just giving up! Fewer artists will participate now tho, for sure.

It doesn't even mention this in the rules btw, it's in a special page ludumdare.com/resources/qu... that talks about their AI policy. I only found this link in a note at the bottom of their recent post for the upcoming April event. If you're gonna do it, then do it. Don't hide it.

Even the Compo category, games made "entirely from scratch", by ONE person...if you're using AI I just...how can you possibly argue that it was made by one person? It was made by stealing the knowledge, skill, and experience of everything that was stolen to train the AI on. I'm just shocked.

I understand the argument that "it wouldn't reflect the real world" but the "real" world sucks. If you have the platform, you should be creating a system that reflects the world you want to see exist. It's literally the only power most of us have, and you're just gonna give up from the start???

Oh no! That's a bummer! At least, having pre-ordered it, I don't have to worry about when it's coming out, it'll just show up at a nice surprise at some point!
