Summaries of most of Team Theorist's videos (currently moving them all from Twitter)
That's about all my thoughts for this video. It's fascinating to see how much things have changed since this one.

Notable people mentioned: Kirby (character)

Also, this is before Matt apparently learned how to normalize audio, so I'm finding myself turning my volume up and down mid-video. I'm glad that didn't take too long to fix for later episodes. (11/12)

I feel the message of being a source of interesting info about games "without having to put in any work of your own", as the video says, is a bit misguided. If it were me, I'd want the show to be a starting point for the audience to do more research and be interested in the topics discussed. (10/12)

There's also a hint of the weird sexual jokes in this episode that are common in early Game Theory, with a line about how you could seduce your dream boy or girl using quilting. It's not THAT bad; but it's reminiscent of later, worse jokes, so it kinda gives me the ick a little, to be honest. (9/12)

The first logo used for the show makes its debut here, and it's an interesting one. The symbolism on display is not so subtle but logically sound. However, the whole design ultimately feels like an inconsistent ransom note with its disparate elements, so I can see why it was later changed. (8/12)

... somewhat superfluous visual aid while the voice-over makes up most of the video's substance. But there will be the occasional pun in the visuals to keep those invested in them satisfied, like the use of an illustration of a well in the ground when Matt says, "WELL, now you can..." (7/12)

As this is the first video related to the Theory shows, this video marks the beginning of the "slideshow era" by default. I'd say this style (in this video, at least) is defined by its bare-bones nature of using mostly simple still images to serve as a ... (6/12)

Moving on to the visual elements of the video; in 2021, a guide to the four distinct visual editing style "eras" of the shows was established by Team Theorist. I think this guide is a good representation of the styles for now, so I'll bring them up when necessary. (5/12)

There's also a certain ironic cockiness to the tone, as if it's meant to be a parody of said infomercials, but it's unfortunately not getting that much of a laugh out of me. Maybe because I've seen it so many times; I can't say for sure. (4/12)

The tone of the video has a kind of "As Seen on TV" infomercial vibe to it, which makes sense for a pitch for a brand new show no one has seen yet, but it is a notably different tone from the rest of the series. (3/12)

I have to admit, I've watched this video so many times, that I have most of it memorized. As I'm re-watching it now, I'm repeating every word said in it as it plays. Knowing myself, this isn't too surprising. (2/12)

... Alex Trebek, Jesus, Satan, Johanna (from Sweeney Todd), Count Dracula, Mina Harker, Lucy Westenra, Lancelot, Guinevere, Mrs. Claus, Santa Claus, Romeo, Juliet, Elizabeth Taylor, Richard Burton, Frankie Avalon, and Annette Funicello.

I might do this after every Theory vid opinion going forward.
