self-harm is so heavily stigmatized that even talking about it can feel impossible, so being able to mention it openly really does feel like progress.
i think part of good recovery is being able to casually talk about the scars instead of avoiding talking about it like its the biggest taboo. people talk about quitting alcohol or quitting smoking all the time and thats fine. self harm is just another shitty addiction
