Apparently Greek Alphabet Soup are the closest we're getting to that & some other countries have curious takes on it but the reason why it's not widespread is because it would take too long to produce the letter/symbol shapes.

I usually don't pay attention to beauty pageants outside of the National Costume segments & boy, I'm glad I checked Miss Grand International because my island sending the Chupacabra is hilarious.
