I think you will see mainstream banks offering USDC to their clients soon. It’s an easier way to send US dollars across borders and could replace Zelle as the preferred way to make P2P cash transfers directly in banking apps.

USDC is distributed by Circle, a publicly traded U.S. company. Their reserves are 100% in USD and U.S. short term treasuries. USDC will always be pegged to the dollar and is by far the safest stablecoin in circulation.

Tether, quite frankly, is shady. They operate in El Salvador to escape regulatory oversight. They are supposed to hold USD reserves 1:1 to cover the USDT token, but their audits show some of their reserves are crypto, not fiat.

These same UMP doctors teach the med students and do all the research. I’m not sure this is the best method of resolving differences.

Meanwhile over in crypto land, Coinbase is offering >7% APY on USDC lending deposits, which are backed by 130-150% dollar-for-dollar in BTC.
