Grief settles as a weight, and I am always tired these days.

A small watercolour drawing of the entrance to HA!HA! on Trinity St, Cambridge (now Strada) with passing figures. This sold at an exhibition I had in King Street in 2000. Doesn't seem long ago to me. See alt text

One more Cambridge May Week scene, quite a large painting combining materials. Quite an evocative hazy image like butterflies in the mist. This is one of the paintings sold at exhibitions at the Linda Blackstone Gallery a few years ago.

Her body slumped forward in a posture of fatigue or emotional surrender.

The room around her is richly furnished and dimly lit.

The color palette is warm yet subdued.

it captures a moment of pause—an unguarded glimpse into a woman’s private emotional world.

Women have led, ruled, and shaped culture across centuries.
Eleanor of Aquitaine influenced European politics and arts, Zenobia defended Palmyra against Rome, and Hatshepsut built Egypt’s golden age.

Culture is built in small rituals.

Coffee is one of the quiet ones—

shared, remembered, and passed on.

Caffè Florian one of the few places that welcomed women in its early days (18th century).
