But all the Republicans want is for people to suffer and they're not hiding it. Continuing the shutdown accomplished that goal, and even gave them an excuse to break more laws, so they were perfectly happy to continue the shutdown.

There was no win available.

Trump just wanted chaos and destruction. He would've been happy to let the shutdown continue indefinitely.

The deal we got wasn't a good one. It was the least bad one available.

It's not really used in professional contexts tho. I don't see myself going near it any time soon.

I always like to tell people to make an early arcade game as a first project. Somewhere around Pong, Asteroids, Pacman level stuff. Grab something like SDL or XNA and you can code that stuff in a few hours.

Feels like a week or two to get something even resembling one of those games in Unreal.

Learning curve is steep. A lot of "that's just how Unreal works" stuff you have to learn before you can do anything at all.

2D looks like it would be really painful to do in it.

It's Metroid. It'll sell low 7 figures. Nintendo will be confused why a game that looks vaguely like Halo but plays completely differently doesn't get 8 figure sales like Halo. Internet will say stupid stuff.

I think it's pretty clear they brand 3rd person games as Metroid and 1st person as Metroid Prime.

The "same characters, very different gameplay" games tend to go over way better if they brand them differently. I feel like a lot of their spinoffs get received badly if they use main series branding.

I've got two Switches here. A day 1 model and a revised one with the longer battery life. Neither has that.

Joy-Cons look slightly better due to being larger, but I suspect this will just be my hands hurting too much to continue playing after 10 minutes instead of 5.

They need to give up the "2 players with 2 Joy-Cons" nonsense and make ergonomic Joy-Cons.

Tabletop mode might be the winner here. Switch's smaller size made tabletop pointless - UI was too small in most games at tabletop viewing distances. The charging port on the bottom meant you couldn't leave it plugged in while playing. Kickstand look a lot better too. Switch 2 seems a big win here.
