Had some down time lately so I've been messing around with Unreal.

Definitely getting the vibe it's meant for big teams that want to minimize the number of programmers they need.

Seeming like a pretty bad match for small teams - especially small indies lead by programmers.

Ended up getting Metroid Prime 4. Best Buy honored my 7 year old pre-order with 20% discount. Guess I'll dust off the Switch soon and check it out.

What's the verdict on this? Saw a few review headlines and it seems like opinions are all over the place on this.

So this launched last week. I had a small part in it. I did the Xbox online multiplayer support.

Damn Switch 2 is expensive. I'll never understand what anyone sees in it.

@fourhman.com Thought of you recently. Remembered you were like "Nintendo's not going to release a joy-con with a real d-pad" back when everyone else thought that was the most obvious thing to do. You were right. We got a whole long gen of "This product sucks, but it sells, so we're staying with it"

So Switch 2 kinda just fixes the really obvious flaws that stood out immediately when the Switch was announced.

A little bigger helps. Switch had a weird size of too big for your pocket, but not big enough for what it's trying to do. It doesn't look like they improved the ergonomics much tho.

Lower Decks was a really fun show. Enjoyed the whole thing, nice end to it. Really the only one of the modern Star Trek shows that was consistently good. Not excited about the other confirmed projects. Wonder how long until we get another good Star Trek.

The Juan Soto contract is first A-Rod contract level insane, so far above everything else. Good to see money shifting back toward the players tho. The owners pretending to be poor stage wasn't fun.

Also, it's really weird seeing the Mets realize that they're a New York team and acting like it.

Been mostly off social media since Twitter declined. Everyone keeps talking about Bluesky lately, so let's give it a shot and see how it goes.
