This isn’t helpful at all. And is such a privileged attitude to someone saying they literally are in such a large state that they are 3 hours from their rep.

Collins and Golden do not live in our area. Maine is huge. I’m not making excuses, but it’s not that simple. Collins lives 3 hours from where we are and I believe Golden is about the same. At minimum, they’re flying in 3 hours from us. It’s super frustrating to live in an area where I can’t do much.

One of them doesn’t staff their local office. I’ve called repeatedly, no answer. Driven by to go to nearby businesses and it is always empty, lights off. Like I genuinely don’t know how it’s legal for them to ignore constituents to this extent but they do.

What can we do as regular citizens? Collins and Golden are the reps for my area and refuse to hold town halls or respond to contact. I live in rural Maine and we aren’t seeing protests or ICE raids in our region so I don’t even know what to do.

Houlton, Maine showed up today. There were at least 100 people, which is amazing for the County.

A friend that works for a gov agency is stating they were called by a supervisor and told that any federal employee caught at a protest today would be immediately fired, no questions asked. Considering that they nixed the union for that agency, they’ll have no protections. Insane.

That might apply to conflict between children or in a workplace. But when we have a government deploying the military against citizens who are not violently rioting, by admission of the local PD, the time for peace has come to an end and it has been declared by the government.
