This is our corgi, Mia, traveling with us through 3 states today to see one of my specialists. She's giving the side-eye because we were driving through a thunderstorm.

Found these growing on an old stump in the woods on a day I finally remembered to bring my camera

Some kind of shelf-like mushroom cascades down an old tree stump. The fungi range in colors from oranges to blues, with ring-like patterns visible from the top. Further down the same tree stump are more mushrooms, mostly orange in hue. These also have visible striated ring-like patterns.

J'ai personnellement préconisé l'utilisation des corgis comme unité de mesure, car ils sont relativement omniprésents. Mais je suis propriétaire d'un corgi (et aussi américainne). Comme je suis aussi scientifique, je n'ai pas de problèmes avec le SI.

My daughter loves to send me pics of the food she's eating at college. I went through and added corgis to some of them for calendar pics as a Christmas gift one year.

Picking berries with the corgi this morning. Blueberries just starting to ripen; Mia has discovered that she can boop them off the branch with her snoot and then help herself to what falls.

Lots of blackberries too. Some of our blackberry canes are taller than I am!

Mia, a tri-colored corgi, sits nicely in front of the blueberry bushes to get her picture taken, although she has no idea why I'm making her do that. She has blueberries to eat! Among the detritus of the forest floor a tiny mushroom pops up. The top is a bright red while the visible gills and stem are white. A small chunk, looking like a bite-mark, is missing from the top.

Hello from the woods!
Looking up at the sky from the base of either a maple or oak tree (I think it's maple) in summer. The trunk is a mix of brown, grey and red layered bark that goes on and on, finally reaching the verdant canopy. At the top, abundant leaves spread out from branches to create a canopy. Patches of blue sky peep through, brightening the world below.

The ferns are back!

Pics of the woods last fall and yesterday. I refer to it as Fern Gully (although it has nothing to do with the movie, and if you got that reference kudos). Corgi for scale.

A fall day in the woods. The trees and shrubs are bare and brown. Dead leaves carpet the ground in tans and more brown. A break and the color scheme reveals a corgi- Mia- a tri-colored cutie. She has her butt towards the camera, nose to the ground, keen to find out who had been doing what in these woods. Spring in the woods! Although some leaf detritus remains visible, much is covered by vibrant green, green, green! A large swath of ferns (is there a word for a huge grouping of ferns?) carpets the entryway to the trees. The trees are showing off their leaves. At the opening of the ferns stands Mia, a curious tri-colored corgi. Butt to the camera, nose to the ground, she's catching up on everything that's happened since her last visit.

On our walk this morning, Mia and I found a slug hanging from a tree branch by its slime. A slow way to descend while taking in the view! I've never seen this before. (Sorry for the blurring, my camera would rather focus on the corgi)

Hanging from one of the branches, like a spider from a thread of silk, only using slime instead, is a slug. (Sorry I don't know what kind). A lush green goat pasture. In the foreground, a little blurry, is an oblong brownish slug. It's hanging suspended mid-air by its slime from a maple tree branch. In the background, the camera chooses to focus on Mia, a tri-colored corgi, no matter how many times I try to get it to focus on the slug, or how many settings I change. Mia is even being a good girl and turning her face away from the camera so it won't try to lock on her face.

I wish I'd been able to get a better picture, but cats are cats. Alcea hopped up on the chair with Hubs and then got all snuggly with him, hoping to get some of his food and attention. We don't feed her people food btw, she's just needy.

For several years I've found buttercups in our pastures w/ white speckles on the petals growing alongside yellow. Some almost completely white, some with just a touch. Does anyone know if this is just a really recessive gene? Weird mutation? Anyone else see this?

🧡 Sorry to hear about the price increase. Do you have to pick them up on specific days because they are controlled?

I'm currently 'aggressively resting' b/c one of the meds (injection every other week) I need to manage long-COVID stuff makes me feel like I have the flu for 3 days.

Owing to their wedge-shaped heads and their insatiable curiosity, goats often find themselves with their heads on one side of a fence, body on another. In this case, two goat kids are both stuck in the same fence opening, making extraction even more difficult. They are siblings, white with brown heads, a white blaze on their forehead. A goat stands in a wooden hay feeder, eyes wide, one ear flopping down and the other sticking wildly sideways. The goat has a white body, with a brown chest and head. A white triangle marks it's forehead.
