I don’t share this for sympathy or advice.

I’m an exceptional teacher with a decade of experience. I’m doing phenomenal work in my classroom and in my school. My students are thriving.

And I cannot enjoy any of it because I’m running on empty all the time.

Anyway. There is a glass jar in the corner of our collective house right now. Keep adding your change to it when you can. It's going to add up.

And it was always a shock to see that the coins that, separately, felt worth almost nothing actually added up to what seemed to be a huge, earth-shattering amount. That was real money in there! Real money that was made out of just...change. 🧵

And then, one day, the jar would be opened. Maybe when it grew too heavy to lift, maybe when an expense came up, maybe just before a vacation. 🧵

Not enough to miss. Not enough to notice. Just a few cents here and there: a tiny, insignificant donation. Just what could be spared. An offering. 🧵

Remember those giant glass jugs that used to sit in living room corners of some people's houses? People would empty their pants pockets at the end of the day and toss the loose coins in--a nickel here, a quarter there. 🧵

I am obsessed! Such amazing choices by actors and director while still remaining true to the original. So great.
