Two black cats are sitting on my lap looking at my knitting with laser focus. I am knitting a hat on 4.5mm wooden double pointed needles, the yarn is Bernat 50/50 Germantown worsted in 50% virgin wool, 50% nylon. It is vintage yarn from the 70’s as my best guess.

Happiness is working on a scrappy crochet blanket for 2+ years and doing a quick check to confirm I haven’t gained or lost any stitches. Almost finished! #CrochetSky 🧶 #ScrappyBlanket #YarnEnds
Crochet blanket made using the moss stitch and holding 2 strands of 4ply yarn together using a 4.5mm hook. One strand of yarn is 100% pire wool in a dusty rose colour, the other strand is made of all my left over scraps from sock yarn. It makes a wonderfully random collection of colours.

A pair of gloves knit with merino sock yarn I hand dyed using dandylion flowers and turmeric. The pattern is called Pussywillow Mitts and can be found on Ravelry.

Sunday experiments in the kitchen. #VodkaInfusion
a one litre glass kilner jar filled with sliced bartlett pears, ginger root, vanilla bean and most of a 750ml bottle of Iceberg Vodka. The jar is sitting on a black induction cook top in-front of a tiled backsplash in browns, blues, greys and off white. using a 1 litre kilner jar wash, core and thin slice 2 Bartlett pears slice 1/2 inch of ginger root into 4 slices half the vanilla bean pod 75ml Iceberg Vodka from St John’s NL Canada 1 - place slices from half of one pear in jar, lay one slice of ginger 2 - place slices from second half of pear in jar, lay one slice of ginger, then scrape paste out of first half of vanilla bean into the jar along with the pod repeat steps 1 & 2, then pour vodka into the jar until full (it might not all fit depending on the size of the 2 pears you are using) and seal. Place jar in cool dark cupboard and turn over to toss contents once a day. Taste after 5 days. You can infuse for up to 3 weeks to your taste preference. Filter back into original vodka bottle using paper coffee filter. Left over infused pears can be served with vanilla ice cream but they will be quite mushy and boozy :)

Monday evening cooking dinner with my hubby. Full on team effort involved making Moussaka from scratch for the first time.The most difficult bit is waiting for 30 min after taking it out of the oven to allow the béchamel to settle. It smells soooo good! #CookingSky #FromScratch

Plus the ongoing abundance, we planted one variety of yellow cherry and we have already had 4 kg out of it and it shows no signs of slowing down.

Making lemon cheesecake and lemon curd to spread on top. I always think of @peggyrace.bsky.social and the jar of home made lemon curd she brought to my photo exhibition in Edinburgh in 2011.
