Turning toward machines for love, care, and companionship is not evidence of societal ingenuity, it’s evidence of societal collapse.

Louisiana has to build three new natural gas power plants to accommodate the "AI" data center that Meta just crammed through because said center will use *Three Times* as much electricity (and, thus, attendant resources) as the *Entire City Of New Orleans*, every year.

Y'all this isn't sustainable.

The most effective (& ultimately cost-effective) interventions are based on understanding needs & then meeting needs.

But how often does this happen?

Services that are narrowly service-centric cant meet real needs, & then people get labelled as 'complex', when often the needs are not that complex.

A wonderful metaphor story, beautifully told
I can't remember whether I've told this one.
My colleague introduced me to their hospice in-patient, because I would be responsible physician during their holiday. Patient 'Ingrid' had known my colleague a long time & trusted them deeply.
Ingrid had advanced lung cancer.
