Thankfully, my brother-in-law is wonderful unlike Mr. Vance.

We still have juries although judges have huge influence on trials.

Can we talk about how in the age of DOGE era blatantly illegal actions by Trump administration officials why they're using an application that's not sanctioned for use by the federal government with DISAPPEARING MESSAGES turned on. How is corrupt and illegal behavior being ignored?

Yeah, what's going on? I'm trying to access some articles.

Didn't they say federal workers wouldn't be able to work from home anymore? Also, his work involves all sorts of classified information. If he's going to work from home, they have to run background checks on everyone there and make sure the area is secure.

You or Bernie (or both) should be the speaker to the American people in the Democratic rebuttal. Actually use slides or something to show them all of what Trump and this congress are doing. Don't make it short. You get this one chance where they/we might be paying attention.

I was thinking the cabinet meeting was exactly like the meetings Putin staged on TV in the lead up and early moments of the start of the 2022 invasion.

Yeah, I wondered if the intention was to challenge Trump and co. on air and not sign it, but that's a terrible and unpredictable plan. The Ukrainian ambassador wouldn't have her head in her hands if this were planned.

I know our history is mixed at best, especially during the Cold War and with the Iraq invasion, but I never thought we'd sink to this level. I'm trying to resist making a Star Wars analogy here.

Hey, you're still on BlueSky. Let's go #KNICKS! Thoughts on how Mitch might fit coming back now that he's practicing 5 on 5? Definitely off the bench to start. But I think he cleans up our defensive flaws. Having Hart move to the three helps our offense keep flowing. We loose Bridges 3s though.

But it's clear that EU countries and the US became involved because of Libya's role in supplying oil to Europe. Contrast their response to intervene in Libya with their decision otherwise with Syria until ISIS rose up. Also, the US efforts with Saudi Arabia is clearly about blocking Iran and China.

Also, you mention Libya as an argument against NATO. The moment EU countries and the US got involved in Libya to prevent a massacre in Benghazi (with a UNSC resolution backing it), where was the off ramp. Were the rebels and Gaddhafi going to settle?

The problem's always been foreign policy in service of corporate profit and interest, first under the guise of fighting communism and now with no front. That said, it's the West that established the UN and concepts of international law that you keep appealing to, that the West undermines.

No other country spends as much per capita (as far as I can tell) for the type of research that the NIH funds as the United States. It's why a lot of scientists have chosen the US over other countries. That includes Canada (1.26B (Canadian $) per 40M, vs. $35-48B per 334M

How about the people who were silent and didn't push Biden to change his policy towards Israel like they pushed for him to step down after the debate with Trump?

Well, we need to get as much aid in and documentation of the devastation as possible and set up monitoring systems as possible in the next six weeks.

Is there any chance you can pick a venue without a blanket arbitration clause (so I can support your work)? That was my initial problem with the NYTimes that caused me to unsubscribe (and many more have have come up since, but I'd already unsubscribed. Your leaving is more or less the last straw).
