I'm not celebrating Independence Day this year. I would celebrate if the "Big Beautiful Bill" goes down in flames, but that seems unlikely. The nation I knew is being torn apart, its pieces used to create an authoritarian state alien from the brotherly love I use to know.

Today Canada announced that, due to tariffs, no vehicles will be allowed to cross from the United States into Canada. No Vehicles. People will have to walk into Canada. No planes will be allowed to land, trucks will have to be unloaded at the border. Not even bicycles will be allowed in.

Just as I’m drifting off to sleep, we have an earthquake. Bed and building quickly jump left and right. Did I imagine it? No. News confirms magnitude 3.9 just 3 miles west of here on the Burbank- North Hollywood border.

In the wake of the Eaton Fire heavy rainstorms caused mudslides throught the Altadena Area. All the water coming down the mountains west of Fair Oaks Is diverted into the Arroyo Seco By the Altadena Storm Drain aka Death and Dagger. The water was brown with silt and smelled heavily

Sad. Arroyo Seco closed all year. Blocked by an impenetrable barrier of flagging tape. Not many places left to go hiking in the San Gabriels.

Is there any way, maybe through the Freedom of Information Act, to force the government to release reports that are already in the pipeline but held up by these infuriating stop actions?
