The thing I admire most about Jeffery Goldberg right now is that he didn't sit on his incendiary scoop, waiting to reveal it only when he could make money from it in a book, like so many other selfish people who know shocking things about this administration have done and will continue to do.

If anyone in the DFW area has room to take in abandoned cat, please DM. I don't even have pics yet but a tenant moved out and left their kitty behind! Will post pics when I get her! I have zero space for another stray, need help!

And so once again, oh America my friend..

And so once again you are fighting us all.

And when I ask you why, you raise your sticks and cry and I fall.

Oh my friend, how did you come to trade the fiddle for the drum.

Yes, but *what* a distraction: a jaw-dropping 416 megapixel mosaic of the Andromeda Galaxy!

Auschwitz was at the end of a long process. It did not start from gas chambers.

This hatred was gradually developed by humans. From ideas, words, stereotypes & prejudice through legal exclusion, dehumanization & escalating violence... to systematic and industrial murder.

Auschwitz took time.

In today’s history lesson, we are going to read about the Smoot-Hawley tariffs.

Back in 1930 another Dipshit (Hoover) thought it would be smart to put tariffs on all imports, because the manufacturers felt they weren’t getting enough of the pie.

Wow! LASCO is a camera on the SOHO space-based solar observatory. It has an occulting disk that blocks the Sun and lets us see fainter material around it. This time-lapse lasts several days, and holy wow that comet!
What a beauty! This is comet C/2024 G3 (ATLAS) passing through the field of view of the LASCO C3 coronagraph.

It wasn't for certain whether it would survive it's closest approach to the sun on January 13th, but it did and delivered us a spectacular show!

Fair question.
Can someone explain why TikTok is a bigger national security concern than a social media platform run by a South African technofeudal oligarch actively interfering in our elections and sabotaging our national interests here and abroad?

Wow, look at this coronal hole! It has grown a bit over the past day and looks a bit more impressive. We may see some faster solar winds at Earth in the next 2-3 days, triggering minor to moderate geomagnetic storming (G1-G2/Kp 5-6). Good chances for mid-latitude aurora!🤞
