It was like riding out a fever but I think I finally ironed out the new plot. Killed some darlings and made a couple huge changes but I’m ready for rewrites- right in time for November writing challenges! And wouldn’t you know it I probably need about 50k new words. Serendipitous 😆

Doing some extensive plot surgery on my rewrite and I think my main villain is getting a total role reversal and falling back to misguided side antagonist.
That closes several plot holes and opens an entirely new one. Just need to figure out how to sew the new one up…

I always try to order my books from the local indie book store instead of Amazon and usually it’s not too bad a wait, but for whatever reason the horror book I ordered for book club is taking weeks! 😩 where are you mysterious tome??

Sat down and went through my old draft for my rewrite project. Of the 78k words I harvested about 35k. Of that 35k I have no idea how much I will salvage or totally rewrite but, hey, it's a start!

Success! I finished my first pass at my plot update. The bad news: I'm throwing out at least half of the story. The good news: this version of the plot actually benefits from staying in the original POV which makes it much easier to save at least some of the original work.

But before I can start that, I have a bigger decision to make: one POV or two? The first version was one… I feel like one is cleaner for this story but with the new changes to the plot I need to make sure I can still tell the whole tale that way. 🤔 hm hm hm

Taking a break from my sci fi project to have another look at my Dark Fantasy rewrite. Think I may have worked out the major plot changes enough to start drafting again.
