Feet hardly touched the ground over the weekend, from talking at an event to cleaning up my potting area and now off to work!!
Today teaching a chutney making class! First time for everything!!

Pumpkin soup cooked on the community allotment, from pumpkins grown on the community allotment!!
Kids made Halloween crafts, hung them in the trees and carved apples!!
Everyone fed from local food they’d helped grow!!

Morning-the birds are back!
In the last 24 hours from the garden we’ve heard owls and green woodpeckers, the starlings are roosting and the rooks in the rookery in the woods are louder morning and evening!
And there’s a tiny wren with a huge voice.

It’s World Food Day and apparently this year is all about water.
From a growing perspective gardeners and allotment holders need to mulch, mulch and mulch more to keep water in the soil, and keep the land planted so roots make the soil stable.
Stop digging!! Save water!!

Woken up to photos on the bird app of peatlands being burned in the name of colonialist sports.
Insanity. These lands are vital for climate mitigation. How can anyone think shooting is more important?
