You could say it’s a Josh Citarella/ @jstordaily.bsky.social collab and I reckon you’d be right. Please listen to this fascinating exploration of what public digital space could look like (and what its limitations would be). Twas a bona fide kick to interview him. daily.jstor.org/the-case-for...

Oh!! @ianrosewrites.bsky.social what a lovely post. Thank you--it was my pleasure always to edit you and learn from you. Happy thanksgiving.
This year, I worked with some of the best editors in science and nature writing. Everything I wrote was better because of them.

@lkbotts.bsky.social for Sierra
@joespring.bsky.social for Smithsonian
@saraivry.bsky.social for JSTOR
Chuck Thompson for @columbiainsight.bsky.social
By the way, it's National Editor Appreciation Day.

Nobody ever reads a great article and thinks, "Dang, that was some tight editing." But editing is a big part of how it got to be great.

So writers, if you've ever worked with a good editor, shout 'em out.

Sometimes I read the Athletic and when I do, I'm struck by the prose--it feels decidedly and intentionally different than the reset of the paper. It has a high school student paper vibe in approach and tone. I cannot be the only one to notice this. Why do they make this choice?
