💙📚💡📚🎧 One of my favorite reads from October. I've not given mich thought to any unique foods that exist in America. It dows make me wonder about what might be in my backyard that I am missing. I'll have to explore The Ark of Taste on my own.

💙📚🪐 Revisting this one from my childhood. A world that struggles with over population & volatile climate there are those with Talent, physic abilities that can be anything, pre-cog, telepathy, kinetics, and more!

📚💙🪐A lot going on for length of this book. Shizuka's quest to deliver a 7th soul. Katrina finding herself despite a world against her. Lan also finding herself after delivering her family to safety.
Either expanding on the different threads or pairing down the storylines would have been help.

📚💙 The last 10 days of Oct were rough personally. I didn't read as much as I had hoped. Overall it was a good month. Highly recommend reading Endangered Eating. I want to dig into the Ark of Taste and see what foods may be super local to me.

♟️🎲 I was more than happy to bring #CritterKitchen to a #gamenight by request. I love how the a la carte expansion changes the game up a lot. I enjoy this best at 4 or 5 players. This particular game was close on points.

♟️🎲 Played #APlaceForAllMyBooks at a friend's house last week. The game is cute & cozy. Perfect for the introverted book lover. I'd like to play again & see if I can do better. Also different player counts. Debating if this is something to pickup for my own collection.

♟️🎲 Had the chance to play the co-op variant last night of #TerraformingMarsAres. We lost missing the the final 2 advancements of oxygen. VP total was no where near 80 for the winning condition. Overall I still think we did well.

Saw this little guy on a walk recently. Folklore has it the amount of brown/black will determine the severity of winter. I never recall the details.

💙📚🪐📚🎧 This didn't land the way The Starless Sea & The Ten Thousand Doors of January did for me. I don't know why. It's well written. Started slow, picks up speed as it keeps going. Perhaps there was a bit more terror & fear than I anticipated rather than exploring of worlds.

💙📚🎧📚🪐 I saw a lot of positive buzz about this one. I'm glad to have picked it up on sale. I wasn't sure I would like it. A bit slower than I expected at first. I enjoyed guessing at what was going on and where the story led. Would recommend.

💙📚🪐 I really enjoyed this! A lucky thrift find. This quote really struck me for the times in which we find ourselves today.
"But a society cannot be forced to order, Jo, against it'scollective will. We must grow. Change. As appealing as fascism is to the fearful, it isn't sustainable."

♟️🎲 I love #Tsuro! It's such a simple game that can be played as causally or seriously as you'd like. 2-8 players and usually quick. It's been around for two decades!

💙📚Fun, light read. Suspension of disbelief of the competency of the competitors given thier ages, the number of competitors & the amount of control the spectators of the competition.
Enjoyed Oceans 11 or Leverage? Then there's a good chance you'll like this.

💙📚 Lunari decided that I was doing too much reading and demanded pets. I didn't think she would sit on my book. 🤦 At least she was happy.

💙📚💡📚🎧 Light pollution is something I think about from time to time. This provides a more in depth view of concepts that I haven't previously considered. It also makes me want to see what I can do to help limit it's effects.

💙📚🪐 I liked the morally grey MC. Some interesting side characters. It was slow until about 2/3 of the way through picking up to medium.
Overall it lacks depth that I can't place my finger on.
Maybe the 2nd book would make this story more complete.

📚💙🎧📚🪐 Picks up where the last book left off. I enjoyed seeing the MC make her bad decisions that might not lead to the best places. The romance was cute. Characters coming into their own was nice.
The ending wasn't a solid landing. It was still satisfying. Happy to have given this a read.

💙📚🪐 A good collection of fantasy short stories. My favorites were Paintbox & The Wild Hunt.
I picked this up secondhand. From what I can tell it appears to have been a KS. Not something widely circulating.

💙📚💡📚🎧 I'm finding part of my nonfiction niche is leaning towards plant, extending to Fungi. There are some concept overlaps with a few other books I've read. It's fascinating to realize how much Fungi are a part of our lives. 🍄

💙📚🪐 I loved this! It starts off almost cozy and ramps up. Magical realism with a spooky vibe. Sometimes, we think we are doing something amazing when it might be doing the opposite. Grief for the lost. A desire to relive a moment again. The ending is bittersweet.

💙📚🎧 I really enjoyed this. Most of the MCs are beyond their teen years. It's refreshing to have that sort of maturity. There are some romance plots within they aren't the main focus. It's wonderful to see a group of women work to help & lift one another up.

♟️🎲 Played #Vantage with some friends last night. It's an interesting world. I would love to play it some more in the future. This is an experience type game. We had an epic victory completing the mission to fully level up & the destiny to repair our ship.

💙📚🪐📚🎧 I was slightly unsettled listening to some parts of this. Imagine experiencing the memories of an entire people. All the trauma of those lives. The MC Yetu is tasked with just that. It's haunting. A bit horrifying. I'll read this again.

💙📚🪐 On reading the summary and then the introduction, I was excited to read this one. It fell short of my expectations. I may have set the bar too high. The most interesting stories were Director's Cut and The Library of Lost Things.
