📣 PSA: All things tend toward entropy, including NASA ROSES 2025

For those following the saga, ROSES was released last week, to then be rescinded saying it would be released yesterday (Feb 24), and it now says that the release will be "sometime the week of Feb 24."

VERY valuable thread for geoscientists, and all scientists who are looking for the right questions to ask their professional societies. Even after they walked back some of the advance compliance, it was still extremely troubling to see AGU damage the trust they'd built with their diverse membership.
I want to see the American Geophysical Union (AGU) continue its awesome work on justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion. This thread is a call to AGU and AGU members. 1/

Point made by a friend:

NSF is congressionally mandated to support broader impacts, and every grant proposal is supposed to include them. If this were really about ensuring that federal money is going where it's supposed to, we'd be flagging the ones that *didn't* include broader impacts language.
Is your NSF grant on this list? Reach out if so!

Ted Cruz released a list of grants flagged for DEI or "neo-Marxist class warfare propaganda" from his Oct. report.

NSF is using keywords from that report for their review, though Cruz's list is likely larger.
