I am feeling more and more my grandmother’s family story - disability saved them. She immigrated before WW1 but everyone else stayed. Her grandfather was deaf and had been sent as a youth to school in the city (maybe Vilna). 1/4

Michigan's Indigenous communities harvest wild rice, or manoomin, every year as part of their cultural heritage and modern-day work to restore the plant.

Larry Summers is…🤢
Something absolutely perfect about Larry Summers riffing about the scourge of woke cancel culture being unfair to predatory men in a friendly email to his pal JEFFREY EPSTEIN.

I can’t believe I have to say this, but historically, masked men who kidnap families in the middle of the night are usually not the good guys.

As I told @newrepublic.com, "Once last week, twice today, ICE has picked me up and thrown me on the ground. Honestly, it doesn’t compare to what our neighbors who are trapped inside the Broadview processing facility are going through. They’re committing crimes against humanity there."
I’m a Congressional Candidate. I Was Assaulted by ICE.
An interview with Kat Abughazaleh, a 26-year-old Democratic House candidate in Illinois, who was violently thrown to the ground twice at a peaceful protest in Illinois on Friday morning.

ICE continues to assault us.

We are peacefully protesting. They are kidnapping and hurting us.

This happened about 15 minutes ago. ICE just took one of the protesters inside the facility. This is the first time that’s ever happened.

Join us at 1930 Beach Street. Free our friend. Free our neighbors. Shut down this facility.

On Juneteenth and forever…

Honor, don’t bury or whitewash the history of our ancestors who were lynched.

Juneteenth went uncelebrated by the White House. That alone says everything you need to know about this regime.

It’s strange to watch Americans memorialize soldiers who died for democracy whilst they giddily embrace fascism.

Scores of staffers at the White House National Security Council have been abruptly dismissed as part of a sweeping overhaul that slashes the staff from over 300 to just 50. The move shifts the NSC’s role from policymaking to simply carrying out the president’s directives.

I can confirm we had to terminate some of our agreements by the end of Thursday. I didn’t realize how it could impact interns.

Trauma continues to be the point.
I work for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. We got notification that some of our grants were cancelled.

The grants paid for interns—young Americans who help us do our work, build conservation ethic, and build future employees. They lost their jobs with no notice.

Lack of transparency is the NUMBER ONE complaint I hear about workplaces, governments, industries, bosses…powerful out here hiding their secrets
This administration will go to any lengths to keep the public in the dark. Transparency? Why would America deserve that.
