Great piece- the only thing not mentioned is the influence of writing from Elisabeth Rosenthal and Michael Moore, presumably referenced in the manifesto. Would love to hear you interview Rosenthal, a fantastic KFF and NYT healthcare expert. She has a lot to say about hospitals, not just payers.

If so, he missed a major point in the book which is that health insurance companies are overly demonized and the consolidation of hospital systems is actually a major driver of healthcare costs. Most of Rosenthal’s recent work focuses almost exclusively on hospital systems. Anyway, worth a read!
