F the system- I'm chasing after wisdom.
The world is a dumpster fire but tonight I made a choo choo train cake for my 78 year old father, so it's not all bad.

Part of the reason I hate getting spam texts from those grifter "Democratic" groups is that I'm reminded all over again that the information I gave with my donation to a Democratic candidate at some point in the past was subsequently sold to said grifter "Democratic" group. Shitty thing to do.

My protest aesthetic is Mary Mother of Jesus on one side and Taylor Swift on the other.

Strong female leadership will save us ✊

This System Doesn't Work for Any of Us
And it never will.

One thing I’ve learned in social work: most of us are way closer to being unhoused than we think. A job loss, medical bill, divorce, or emergency and suddenly you’re sleeping in your car. Housing insecurity isn’t about bad choices… it's about being one crisis away from losing everything.

We now have a concentration camp in Florida.

Stop pretending any of this is normal.

If you claim to be a good person and you're not outwardly opposing this regime, you're not a good person.

Be human.

This isn’t about safety. It’s about fear. MAGAs are scared of everything. MAGA keeps shouting “imagine if they were your neighbors.” You know what? They are our neighbors and they’re welcome here. This is about cruelty and control. Nothing more.

There are some centrist and center-right pundits making earnest pleas about Mr. Mamdani being a threat to the economy, and I don't think they understand that the vast majority of us under 40 don't care. This is not a system that works for us. It doesn't take being a leftist to grasp that.

Simultaneously getting messages from a group of friends planning to meet up at a conference next week, and a group of neighbors who watched ICE take away a couple neighbors today.

The compartmentalization and dissonance required to live under fascism is exhausting.

REAL IMAGES from today's peaceful protest in Los Angeles…there was even a musical performance! Legacy media needs to start covering the reality and not just the provocative bits.

Same.
I love L.A., fully and unironically, even with all its many flaws - and absolutely none of those flaws have to do with it being a city of immigrants. That’s one thing that makes L.A. a miracle, vital, a delight. Sending love to my friends there and curses to all ICE goons and their nazi bosses.

Just scrolling through the terrible horrible news of the day and then stumbled upon this goodest boy and his new stick.

It's important to be informed about the shit show happening right now, and equally important to fill your timeline with puppies.
This dog politely asked for a musician's drumstick in the middle of their performance. Always excited to find a fellow stick lover. 12/10
