The BBC can retrieve something from this mess (and show US broadcasters what a spine is) by sending Donald Trump a four letter response: “See you in court!” www.prospectmagazine.co.uk/ideas/media/...
The four-word message the BBC should send Trump about his $1bn lawsuit
The corporation must show it will not be cowed, unlike American broadcast media, and call the president’s bluff

Anybody who had a vision to bring American levels of political, cultural and social polarisation to Britain - whether their motive was clicks or cash, ideology, boredom or anything else - would make it their top strategic priority to abolish the BBC, or to damage and diminish it at the very least
Quick thread on the BBC and the political and societal significance of recent developments:

One of the main reasons the UK has historically been so much less polarised than the US, is that Britain has a shared source of information, consumed and trusted by most people regardless of their politics.

An incredible public health success story.
Peanut allergies in children ages 0-3 declined 27.2% after a 2015 study resulted in guidance recommending the introduction of peanut products in infancy among children. More from Dr. Edith Bracho-Sanchez in the New York Times: www.nytimes.com/2025/10/20/w...

No, MPs haven't legalised abortion up to birth. That lie was spread on X by many who should know better. The change is about saving a handful of vulnerable women from trauma and prison. Women about whom those people do not even think.

I would potentially have a lot more time for headlines like this if there was any other way for many people to recognise that they are neurodivergent and start taking steps to actually improve their lives. As there aren't, as there is little support even when diagnosed, I have zero time for them.

Strange that there is no mention of his 'salutes'. I can't imagine his work for DOGE is the reason people from outside of the US are boycotting his cars. Could be wrong though.

Art of the deal 😂😂😂
Trump: “I think what’s going to happen is Ukraine wants to make a deal because I don’t think they have a choice,” Mr. Trump said. “I also think that Russia wants to make a deal because in a certain different way — a different way that only I know, only I know — they have no choice.”
