I grew up thinking that the Viet Nam war was the last war. In 1998 I imagined they would close the VA hospital eventually, no, it’s now bigger also housing homeless vets. PTSD has been a major issue. So sad. I feel for our military families.

So much waste. My own father was a cog in the machine, he saw it clearly and stopped donations to his alma mater. His (my great) Uncle Jack was shot down and beaten, held for 8 months, thankfully came home to live his best life, I am related to the Greatest Generation now all nearly gone. Hats off.

I had a teacher in high school who took us behind the scenes, loved learning more about the place. The orchids are beautiful, and the whole place is exquisite. I’ve never fully reconciled the new wing, but it’s nice.
