Exactly. I have felt less alone by engaging with my fellow #literacies community. This has to be a collective response. I nominate @wargojon.bsky.social as host!

I also think my kids were swimming in that pool when the photo was taken.

Especially right now. I am finding it particularly challenging to navigate as a scholar, teacher, and university employee. How can we continue this critical work in #literacies when words and voices that matter are being stripped away.

THAT’S right!! @rabani.bsky.social and @karismjones.bsky.social and I are pumped our special issue will be coming out @cite-ela.bsky.social very soon!! #literacies

Brilliance Amy! I really loved the multi-SIG biz meeting that happened at AERA with the media learning SIG. So much overlap and connections to take place.

Agreed! To extend- I’m also trying to make explicit and visible my literacies with my pre-service teachers. Highlighting all the ways that literacies count in and outside the classroom

I agree. Sounds like a fabulous idea for a future #literacies communications chair (Writes in notebook)

As a former member of the GSB podcast team, I always felt so excited to participate, celebrate, and support the #literacies chat team. I loved the synergy when our monthly events coincided!

Not at all! Hard same!! #literacies

Yessss!! I just put my feral children to bed. I can still hear their pitter-patter of feet upstairs.

My first #literacies chat was when I was a graduate student. I was so confused as to what it was all about. I immediately felt a sense of community and connection which encouraged me to participate more!

YES too often I’m told that my work or framing doesn’t fit bc it is “too” literacies.

Reading it with her tonight made me so proud. To her, there was no reason for it to be banned. Let me know if you or anyone else you know wants to join. Catherine’s LOVES a captive audience

This question really makes me think about the bending of “rules” in order to parse out how and why particular literacies work and for whom. Although our field sees literacies as everywhere, that’s not equally understood across all Discourses.

Writing these down for future collaborations…
