No, I have read it 3 timrs already. First for high school in France, I was 15. I hated it. Then at 25, and then at 45, to see if i would like it better. I didn't. Too bad Flaubert's dead: he could have sued for rights on all the Desperate Housewives ' shows... Emma Bovary is their prototype.

I managed to finish that book, nut it took me 3 weeks. It's not a keeper...

I think you're right. I loved The Day of the Oprichnik which i read in 2010, but this one (Dispatches from the District Committee) is not a keeper so far...

Not only am I behind, but it's almost impossible to catch up. I don't have the same page numbers... For each book inside each volume, mine starts back at page 1....
