In a nation that is currently attacking the scientific process, it was so great to smile and enjoy all the hard work of young scientists at Texas ACSM. I hope their enthusiasm may never fade. Lots of smiles and fun for UNT Mean Green at TACSM! 🦅🔬

Sooooo…
The grant proposal that I was working on to address understudied women’s issues is now moot? For anybody that can provide me some advice… should I keep writing? Or is this a futile endeavor you think? I’m depressed 😔
The entire website for the NIH Office of Research on Women's Health (ORWH) is very nearly stripped bare. This is so, so devastating. orwh.od.nih.gov/research/fun...

Spent lots of time getting stuff written and entered into SciENcv yesterday … then realized I was somehow connected to my old UAB email in ncbi and now have no idea how to get back all the work I did. 😭 truly just filling out a word document worked just fine! Why do we keep changing things?? 🥺

Breakfast at my parents house comes with a history lesson on your coffee cup and a book to take home and read. The less you know about the past, the greater the chance we are doomed to repeat it.

I remember this! I was there and fully enjoying the energy of ABRCMS. 🤩 I really need to get back now as a new(ish) assistant professor and give some of my time back to an inspiring organization!
Neil DeGrasse Tyson was incredibly engaging, giving a talk that he had clearly given many times before with the timing and the jokes well worked out.

I waited with a pit in my stomach and got up to give my talk.

Hello my new 🦋 science friends! 👋🏽 As I try rebuild up my network, does anybody know if I wanted to use Garmin watches in an exercise-based study if there is a wholesale rate I might be able to purchase them at? Thanks!

The brain is a curious thing… while I was walking my dog this morning, the “Bananas in Pajamas” song popped into my head and now I can’t stop singing it to myself 🤦🏽‍♀️

Making my own falafel.

You know what I learned today?
This is best left to the experts… 👀 (I made a mess of it)
