it's giving "just learned to use the search function to find content related to their special interest and decided to throw the big scary bad words at anyone saying not fully supportive things about said special interest" which is a very preteen thing to do

Because that's what we need to start revolution. It's not like one or even some of us tuning out is going to take away their capital, their power, the ad revenue, but it might give us the chance to connect with the others around us and find the opportunity to organize in our locality
