What an explainer! I laughed, I covered my eyes, I despaired a little. What a mess.

Count me among those who had baby pigeons on their apartment balcony. Here's one of the babies when it got a little older and less... ball sac-looking.

In honor of JCO ethering Elon today, here is the amazing 70s author portrait that was on the back of one of her novels I got at the library sale recently.

Believe it or not, I'd never seen Lost Boys until this week. It was fine. Sorry, some things translate better if you were a kid first.

Berberian Sound Studio, I'd never heard of before, and though it's not exactly Lynchian, it may scratch that part of your brain.

Very brief searching brought me this image, which looks like you could attach some sort of bracelet or chain, depending on what you wanted. Or whatever their weird social rules dictate! Ha 🏹

Yesterday I got on the subject of something that reminded me I meant to watch White Nights. The story is a hot mess, but yes, Mikhail Baryshnikov and Gregory Hines do some amazing dancing.

ALSO new from me: I read Murderland by @calfraser.bsky.social and was glad I did (though it is v grim). I remember when Joseph Duncan was arrested, as I lived in the area at the time. But mostly, this book makes me feel like we all need to test our dirt. More here: www.instagram.com/p/DQATAKHCRi8/

I'd been looking for this adaptation of Moon & Sixpence for YEARS because Jean Marsh is in it and I am somewhat of a completist. It's on Tubi rn

I also watched The Woman in Cabin 10, which was only ok, but maybe I just appreciated that it wasn't very long.

National Mood Indicator: I keep seeing My Year of Rest and Relaxation by Otessa Moshfegh in the "Popular This Week" section on Storygraph.

(I don't know enough about the other books to say what they indicate, other than Iron Flame seems widely popular?)

I don't often bother with cocktails beyond liquor + mixer, but tonight I made myself The Bee's Knees, and it was good.
