Chicago enthusiast and long-term resident. Married to an amazing weird nerd. Mom to two cats and a human. Trying my best to build a new world in the shell of the old with my beautiful neighbors on the Northwest side.
Guess you don't have to "help" Trump do it if you just...do it yourself.

And before you ask, no, these residents did not receive housing placements or nearby shelter beds before being evicted. Just an excavator on their doorstep and a dumpster for anything they're not fast enough to grab.

Happy international cat day to my two extremely normal babies.

Oh you mean "the next step forward in [their] TRASH REVOLUTION"?? (He literally rolled the bin out with Empire State of Mind blasting in the background)

Took this kid to the march tonight. He's been feeling heavy feelings about all this scary stuff happening and I wanted him to practice putting the feelings into action. I loved watching him join the chants, vibe with his friends, and be part of something bigger than himself. And god I love Chicago.

#Chicago friends please amplify! It's cold as fuck and there is no 24-hr warming center in the 39th Ward. Our unhoused neighbors in Gompers Park need our love and support rn! Bit.ly/staywarm39

Things are so scary, but the hyperlocal progressive group I organize with is welcoming lots of members. Ordinary people are not going quietly even if our leaders are. If you feel lost, I bet someone near you once felt lost but found their way. They'll help you find yours! Cat pics 4 timeline cleanse

Criminalization doesn't begin at arrest; it begins when survival acts like sleeping outside are designated as criminal and policed accordingly. We can house people without criminalizing them! In a city where shelters are always full, that's the bare minimum. If you live in the area and agree, say so

For anyone near Gompers Park who wants to see encampment residents offered housing but not forcibly removed from the park, please tell our Alderman so!

I never really posted on that other site, but you all seem like nice people so I'm going for it. Here's a picture of my beautiful boy, Kilo, who passed away two weeks ago after 17 years with me. I raised him from a kitten and he raised me from a lost and unmoored 22-year old. I miss him so much.
