City Crews Remove All Tents From Gompers Park Encampment To Clear Path For Construction
After nearly a year of back-and-forth between advocates for the homeless and Northwest Side neighbors, all tents were removed from the park Monday.

We have to say *and* more. It's not "A nature play space OR care for unhoused neighbors." It's AND. It's great parks AND affordable housing in the neighborhood. AND clean restrooms for all. AND delicious, fresh food. AND community care. And, and, and. The resources exist. We just have to be bold.

I really can't emphasize enough that if you care about local politics, all you gotta do is show up. Just a regular schmegular person showing up. Literally just show up consistently in person and within a remarkably short amount of time, you will have a shocking amount of influence.

ICE in Chicago detained two people (that we know of) for filming them today, a cyclist and a neighborhood rapid responder. This in addition to tear gassing another neighborhood and brandishing weapons at rapid response—both things that have also already been going on for weeks.
