Near Carreg Cennen in 1815 'Surrounded by wood, this sheltered cot, with its window deeply seated in the wall, and chimney peeping through the thatch, excites notions of retirement, peace, and comfort being possessed by its humble inhabitants.'

Derwydd, the home of (amongst other treasures) the virescent Double Dwarf Daffodil of Derwydd, the greenest of the green Daffodils. which has grown prolifically there apparently since the 17th century.

Atmospheric Trevaughan Bridge Whitland. Said to have been built mid 18thc (a worn datestone apparently recorded this as 1767). Vandalised by Carmarthenshire County Council who demolished one end in an attempt to stop flooding in 1981. However the Taf still floods here as recent photos show.

Carn Wen, Llanfairarybryn, shrouded in forestry until recent years, now its intervisibility with other cairns on high plateaus in the landscape lends credence to the idea that these monuments speak to each other as well as their wider viewsheds.

Beautiful Nantymwyn, an ex lead mine now home to SSSI's (mosses and lichens), Nightjars and much more. Also on site and adjacent, several scheduled ancient monuments. Now under threat from a proposed bike park.
