Good, but we still have Bills C-2 and C-12 on the order paper. Both of these bills were introduced under the guise of placating the United States. When are they finally going to get dropped so that we can comfortably say to Donald Trump's face that we won't sacrifice a soul in his name?

On a related note, "we must trust his plan; of course he can't negotiate in public" is similarly very unhelpful.
He answers to us. It's his responsibility to make sure we're informed on what he's doing and are able to assess him accordingly.

I know it’s fighting a losing battle, but I really do wish we could reclaim liberalism as a philosophical tradition and that people could just say “establishment Democrat” when they mean that.

I imagine it eventually would unless political means are used to stop Trump given that Palantir is working hard to consolidate people's data across departments at varying levels of government, but yeah the more acute risk right now is people who submitted the attestation form.

The affidavit was only needed for people whose passports did not process before Donald Trump came into power. It was created after a now overturned court ruling required the issuance of accurate passports to trans individuals.

- Explicitly prohibit ascribing false genders to trans people, generally as a class or a named person, and even if it is implied. For example, claiming trans women "retain a male advantage" in the context of a discussion on trans inclusion in sports should constitute a breach of the guidelines.

- Make sure Northsky does not block users from foreign jurisdictions that claim to require age-gating for social media. If they want to ban Northsky, they should have to do the work themselves; they cannot physically force Northsky to comply, and it should not voluntarily comply.

- Make it clear that references to legality in the guidelines are based exclusively on Canadian law. Foreign laws, which may potentially be written to perpetuate oppression, should not impact moderation on Northsky.

This isn’t being done against Mark Carney’s will. He is openly allowing and facilitating this. See Bill C-2 on the Canadian side which does exactly the same thing (and implements a couple other draconian rules).

In practice, they probably will begin asking for gender and forcing people to choose one, which as you've pointed out, will directly harm non-binary individuals.

This means that, in theory, airlines do not have to force passengers to select a binary gender, and can simply choose randomly on their behalf as part of the API declaration.

At least according to the guidance, this applies to the airline and not the passenger. There are usually financial penalties for airlines to declare mismatching information, but they will not apply for airlines declaring non-binary passengers with corresponding sex identifiers under a binary gender.
