Chad has already bonded with the braver one. They’re named Billy and Willy (hate it) but I think we’re going to call them William and Billiard.

Btw, this won’t make anyone happy, but AI creations are now infiltrating our RURAL ANTIQUES SHOPS. We saw it again and again. Someone buying a booth and selling AI dogshit in between booths with vintage Pyrex or whatever.

Here’s my best photo of the Aurora at its most bright here at our cabin. With our naked eyes we could see a maroon warmth in the otherwise black sky, so we could even see it with our own eyes! This was my best photo of that moment, which is more vibrant than what we could see.

An hour later.

DID I FINALLY SEE IT? This was from a nearly pitch-black sky here in Arkansas.
November 12, 2025 at 3:58 AM
It was actually pretty good! Better than some places I’ve been in Houston.

Salsa: heavy on cumin but has a little spice. Very tomatoey.

We’re in Eureka Springs and most restaurants either close at three or don’t open until Wednesday so ARKANSAS TEX-MEX IT IS!

I find it *interesting* that one of the top "things to do" in Eureka Springs, Arkansas, is see this Christ statue. Ok, I guess. Then you do a little digging on who built it and why and HOO BOY.

I hope this explains why my husband drove by a group of day laborers today at a usual waiting spot and one was wearing a MAGA hat and another had a shirt on that said "I stand with America" shirt.

Maybe it's the new camouflage.

And I also must must memorialize a redbud we planted years ago that survived so much for so long. It survived having debris piled onto it after our Harvey mucking. A friend made sure people stopped piling stuff onto it with this.

But we weren't going to take any chances, so this spring, we had all of the pines cut down. It's never a pleasant thing, to cut down an old tree.

And there was this one, inches from the house. When my husband bought the house in 2012, the inspector said it was fine, it had survived many storms.

You can see the potential for damage these things had.

This is not my house, but during last year's intense wind storms in Houston, these pine trees smashed into houses in our neighborhood. All of the pines were about the same age. So many went down. One of ours split and thankfully fell into the street rather than onto our house or cars.

We bought a tree.

You best not come for the maker of the partisan voting guide you stumbled across.

Tuesday is Election Day.

These local elections are won on slim margins. You could be the key to doing something good instead of allowing more bad.
