Everything I want to read right now either has a long waitlist at the library or trigger warnings I want to avoid. I just want to read something where the pets, main characters and their loved ones get to live. I want an escape. Preferably in space.

contacted my reps about a ceasefire, so here's your reminder that you can too!

Tried to read the news this morning but I just can't stomach it. No one deserves what Israel is doing to Gaza. Nothing justifies that level death and destruction. It needs to stop.

Ahhh NaNoWriMo is a go! It only took me 3 fifteen minute sprints get the necessary amount of words down! I can do this!

I didn't write much this year, but one of the few things I did write, a short story set in a floating magic school with talking cats, is out today in the Lofty Mountains anthology! And bookshop.org has free shipping! bookshop.org/p/books/loft...

I've been enjoying horror lately, but am always hesitant to pick it up because I get too upset when I read about pet's dying, and I feel like pets are never safe in horror. Anyone have any recs for horror where either there are no pets or the pets are safe?

It's October! If you are looking for a spooky read this fall, check out my mg novel, Junk Junction! It's full of ghost, both friendly and malicious, abandoned places, and antiques!!

ok, but what if I didn't revise any of the old books just yet and wrote something new? Every time I read horror, this yet to be named character shows up in my head and saves the day. I have to quiet them so I can actually finish reading to the real end. Maybe it's time I write them a book?

I had been thinking maybe this was it, I really was done with writing for good.

A few hours later, characters from last years NaNoWriMo got loud in my head, as if to remind me, this is a break, not giving up.

I started Junk Junction in summer 2019. Today, August 8, 2023, this spooky, queer adventure book of my heart is finally out in the world!

Ahh one more day until the world gets to meet the crew of Junk Junction! Edi (non-binary, can see memories that are attached to objects), Delilah (13, queer, psychic), Alex (ghost of a trans guy haunting a doll), and Gremlin (fierce little terrier who can sense the supernatural).

I just dawned on me...I have a book coming out in...TWO DAYS.

Just two more days and my spooky queer middle grade book with evil mannequins and haunted dolls will finally be out in the world.

After hardly reading all summer, I am on a reading spree and loving it!

The weather is absolutely perfect today! Sunny, breezy, low 70s. Yet, I am still struggling to focus on anything.
