I haven’t shopped @target in almost a month. At first I was just trying to cut back due to their DEI policy changes. I’ve been surprised how easy it’s been to just…not go there anymore. For all its conveniences, I’m finding I can live without it.

Another idea: a couch-to-5K style program but for divesting from big box retailers and learning how to shop small and make fewer impulse buys.
Everyone can move toward the goal, but in their own sustainable ways.

I think we need to romanticize these economic blackouts. Yes, it is a sacrifice to give up shopping at our familiars. Yes, it can be inconvenient. But one way to make it sustainable is to game-ify it. Meme-ify it. Turn it into an adorable quest to find local businesses.
